I’m headed to the beach…what do I need to know?!?

The beach is a fun destination in travel trailer. If you are camping on the actual beach remember a couple important things:

Salt water is very corrosive on all metal components. Be sure to not let salt water touch any trailer components, and rinse with fresh water when possible after leaving the sea-side spray.

The Blue Jay has a solar panel charging kit and inverter that is hard wired into the main electrics of the trailer. This trailer is made for this type of “off-the-grid” camping.

The other trailers are capable of visiting the beach however, a generator is highly recommended to ensure that the battery does not die while on the beach (normally only 12 hours without charging). Plugging into the tow vehicle for 30 minutes to an hour will be helpful in keep the battery charged, but is not the ideal method.

Ensure that you budget some extra time for cleaning prior to returning the trailer. Often, the sand will need to be vacuumed by a household vacuum prior to return.

Have a camping unit that you are looking to off-set costs or even make money? We offer a leaseback program that is designed to take the stress out of owning a trailer while allowing all the joys to be maintained. Contact us by e-mail or phone for more information!
